Pat Leibowitz
watercolor painting (section A)
Pat’s work has been shown in juried shows at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Watercolor Exhibition; Art@College Park; Strathmere Gallery (MD.); Art League in Alexandria Gallery; Maryland Federation of Art Circle Gallery and others.
She has taught watercolor painting for many years and is a signature member of Potomac Valley Watercolors and the Baltimore Watercolor Society. She currently teaches watercolor privately and lives in the Washington DC area.
Pat says this about her work:
“In my paintings, I love most of all to portray the effect of light as it comes to the viewer. I paint all types of subject matter--landscapes, seascapes, houses, trees--but that is not the determining factor for me. I often look at a subject and dissect the pieces of light that are coming through the scene to the viewer’s eye. Perhaps that is why I am so attracted to the sky, the prime source of light. I often paint nighttime scenes, with light coming at the viewer from many directions. It fascinates me. I hope this delight with light reaches the viewers. I get the most pleasure from sharing with them what I feel about the subject as it is affected by the world around it.”
